WE ARE A CREATIVE PRACTICE
Established in 2013, Design 21 Architecture is a hands on, design lead Architectural practice based in Staffordshire. The practice collectively has over four decades of experience and expertise in innovation and design, working with a wide range of clients from the private, residential, commercial and public sectors including works to listed buildings and within Conservation Areas.
The company was formed by Paul Adams with the ambition to deliver buildings rich in character, distinct in identity, integrity and most importantly within budget. Paul embraces the responsible of running, directing and delivering projects for clients. We approach every project as a unique and individual opportunity. Each project begins with developing intuitive understanding of both place and people and critical investigations of the projects needs through dialogue, observation and research informed by our considerable project and technical lead experience, with the objective of delivering the highest level of design quality, providing simple, functional and inspiring spaces.
Our strength and work is characterised by a rigorous and analytical approach to the function and planning of each project and through the process of continued refinement, applied to every detail and the work stages. We relish the challenges inherent across the wide range of work undertaken and engage our expertise and agility to prioritise the delivery of all projects within budget, on time and that brings value and joy to our clients and users.
Paul Adams
Architectural Designer
Paul is originally from New Zealand and began his career working and studying for an apprenticeship in architecture in Christchurch New Zealand – learning the traditional art of drawing and the skill of detailing and construction techniques.
Following his passion for travel, he worked in Sydney Australia for an Architects practice before heading to England in 1993.
Paul founded Design 21 architecture with Steve having gained a broad range of professional experience over the course of 20 years, working within both large and smaller scale architectural practices within Staffordshire.
As an Associate at his previous practice of 15 years, Paul was principally responsible for the lead design, project management – procurement strategies, detail design, contract documentation development and site administration for traditional, negotiated and design and build contracts, small and large scale and within all sectors of the industry.
